Sarah Van Sciver is a composer-performer musician and multimedia artist. She writes, arranges, records, and produces scores, songs, sounds, images, and videos for concert, opera, film/TV, theatre, and studio album productions. A vocalist, pianist, harpist, ukulele player, technical director, and conductor/music director, Sarah also proudly teaches and mentors aspiring, emerging, and established artists. Selected credits include crafting score, songs, and sound for the film Strange as Angels (Born Lucky Studios), composing music for operas Shadow House (Philadelphia Opera Collective) and RUBBISH (CalArts New Works Festival) and for stage plays The Magnus Effect and Fifty Days at Iliam (Greenfield Collective); releasing three EP albums of original music, Ophelia’s Song, Overture to an Adventure, and Puzzle Pieces; and premiering the opera she composed, Girondines, with a libretto by Kirsten C. Kunkle, a voting citizen of the Mvskoke Nation lauded as the leading Native American soprano in today’s classical music world.

Girondines – West Coast Premiere! presented by Mission Opera at Canyon High School Performing Arts Center, Santa Clarita, CA on “Halloweekend 2023 (October 28 and 29) with two shows per day (matinees 3-4:30pm and evening shows at 7:30-9pm). Discounts are available for Students and Seniors! Sarah is not only the composer, but also the Music Director, Technical Director, and Pianist-Conductor for this production, alongside the opera’s librettist Kirsten C. Kunkle as Stage Director and portrayer of Charlotte Corday.
